CMD was jointly ventured by China State Shipbuilding Corporation, China CSSC Holdings Limited, and Mitsui Engineering & Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., and manufactures ships utilizing the strong powerful and low speed diesel engines. CSSC-MES Diesel Co., Ltd. is well situated in the Shanghai Lingang New Town Heavy Equipment Industry Park, with a gross area of approximately 400,000�O, with the Yangshan deep water port to the north and Pudong International Airport to the south, this is an ideal location.
The total investment of the corporation exceeds RMB 2.8 billion. The construction is divided to two phases. The present registered capital of CMD is 706 million. CMD is equipped with large NC equipments and large modern test equipments, and imports the licenses from MAN B&W and WÄRTSILÄ, and mainly manufactures ships utilizing strong power and low speed diesel engines with 600mm bores or larger.��
In July 2008, CMD delivered first CMD-MAN B&W 8K98MC engine successfully in China which is the biggest power engine in the world. And in November 2008, CMD obtained the "hi-tech enterprises" certification and the ISO9001: 2000 certification. |
